Ramen and Veggies

Top Ramen is easy to store and quick to make.  It is a great emergency mini prepper food. Here is a recipe for a quick meal starting with a package of any flavor of Top Ramen.

Begin by choose your vegetables.  You can use a variety of dehydrated vegetables, such as onions, green peppers, carrots, peas, etc., or you can use a can or cans of mixed vegetables.

If you are using dehydrated vegetables, put them all in a bowl, and pour enough water on them to rehydrate them.  Let them sit about 10 minutes to rehydrate.

In the meantime, in a skillet on your cooking surface, boil the ramen noodles until tender. Drain, but reserve the water.

Keep the noodles in the skillet, and add the vegetables.  Then add the seasoning package and any other seasonings per your taste.

If desired add canned meat to the skillet.

Stir well, and simmer letting the flavors blend around 5 minutes.  When dish is hot, it is ready to eat.

Options:

After all the ingredients above are together in the pan, add any of the following to your taste:

  • sliced, minced or powdered garlic
  • additional spices
  • tomato products
