Canned Macaroni and Ham


Here is a recipe that uses the macaroni and cheese and canned ham in your pantry.  Included are a few suggestions to use additional ingredients change the flavor, add more nutrition, or just make it a more appetizing meal.



1 package macaroni and cheese
1 small can ham
powdered milk
butter or margarine powder
salt and pepper to taste

These are your basic ingredients.  You will be preparing the macaroni with powdered milk and butter or margarine powder. 


Mix enough enough powdered milk so that you have the amount required on the back of the package.  Follow the directions on the butter buds so that you have the equivalent of 4 Tbs of butter.


Cook the macaroni in a skillet on your heat source.  Reserve the water.   When the macaroni is done, mix in the butter buds with enough water to rehydrate them.  Add to the macaroni. Then add the milk. Flake the ham into the skillet and mix well.  Dish is done when heated through.



After all the ingredients above are together in the pan, add any of the following to your taste:


  • dehydrated vegetables (with the water to rehydrate them)
  • dehydrated tomatoes
  • spices
